PUTESCO
In the Dutch tradition, still lives have classicaly been used as an intermediary between an objects’ pure
physicality and the divine. Over time, these ‘spiritual vessels’ have become so ritualized, so ubiquitous
in their own right as to lose all notion of meaning itself.
Like it’s own dematerializing content, Putesco highlights this condition, oscillating between putrefaction and illumination, past and present, curiosity and disgust. Offering in it’s own right a subjective liberation from the material body and it’s constraints.
Putesco is the self initiated collaboration of creative team Nicholas Alan Cope & Dustin Edward Arnold.
Both with varying backgrounds in photography and design Nicholas and Dustin met through a
commercial project in 2007 and began their first collaboration in October of 2009. Each working beyond their respective discipline they combine the mediums of painting, chemistry, sculpture, fashion and installation as a part of their image-making process.
